The strength of the Simmental/Fleckvieh breed has never been lost on us. However, we did realize that there were certain characteristics of the breed that had to be adapted to our diverse Canadian environment and various management conditions. As breeders of Canadian Fullblood Simmentals, we saw this as our responsibility to develop bloodlines that would produce breeding stock able to adapt to the needs of our livestock industry. It was also evident that versatility was a requirement within the industry as market demands shifted or feed costs changed. The Manta Bloodline soon proved to be the most proficient in adapting to the requirements. It is a bloodline that can produce excellent male and female progeny.
Our breeding decisions are based on this responsibility. This is why we feel confident that the animals we have now developed from this base, with all its attributes, will work in the various breeding programs being developed today, Full Fleckvieh, Fullblood Simmentals or Percentages and Crossbreeds.
